What's the country for me?

Today, Korean side gave us really good question "Do you fight for the country, if your country is really in danger?" and "Do you like your country?". It was very interesting that none of us from Japan side raised our hands up, while half(or more than that?) of Korean side raised their hands.

I think that we both think our lives are more important than anything, and we fight for our family and importnat people. But the difference between us was whether we value on fighting for our "country" or not.

One of the reasons that i think of is maybe education?. What Japanese students learn in school or in general life are "No more war", "Never keep, make and bring in nuclear weapon", "We sweared to our constitution article9 that we never use our self difence forces to attack first" Those kinds of things. I realized(from the previous conference) we didn't learn enough about how JP did terrible things to people in other coutries, but at least, we learned JP is the last country to raise the war.

As we talked during the conference, not all of the Japanese would think this way. There are rightwing thinking people^^;. They do exist in younger generations, too, i guess.

But even so, I want to against the war, and if it happens, i will probably fight for my family and my important friends in Korea, in Japan and all over the world, but Japan will not be the reason of fighting to me. Hope our governmet will not go wrong anymore. I liked today's conference, and i could think some^^ I like my country, but im still not sure what it is..

(p.s.) you know in jp, to raise any demonstration to say things to the government is somewhat weird for normal people, but teachers did it to say "Forcing us to sing a national song is imperialism! Give us freedome!"-*-..They are crazy about having the right to choose to do it or not, aren't they?...I sometimes feel something are strange in my country and maybe in me too.
