Why care about English?
It seemed to me during our last session on english education that
Korean elementary schools put more emphasis on english edu during eartly stage than
its jp counterpart. Even Korean parents and people supposedly are eager and pay more attention to learning english.
I happened to come up with a supposition of my own while i was studying.
Can such pattern be related to a country's dependency level on foreign trade?
Japanese economy relies on foreign trdae only for like 30% which means only 30% of jp ppl account for business oversea while 70% can live their lives by running business domestically.
Constrastingly, Korean economy's dependency on oversea trade is around 70% which means over half of its people have jobs that are related to trade with foreign countries.
Either directly or indirectly, it implies that korean economy cannot survive without the interaction with countries oversea, possibly putting more pressure on koreans to learn english in order to survive in competitive society.
I want to explicate more on this for more definite argument but it would take much time to elaborate as such~~^^ if this is not clear, we can talk more about this later.

haha Dongin, you made me surprise. You always give me very interesting and impressive perspectives, indeed.
huh, this time, its about eagerness toward English education and foreign trade rate!!! haha you are something Dongin, but yea, these could be some possibilities, or probably more.
I rather think that some certain shared belief about values affect greatly to the society. Each sociey has each value, you know.
What i worry is, if generally-shared-value and your value was by any chance different,,,being aware of the difference between your own values and socially shared value could be very important for individuals.
I hope both Korean and Japanese can live their own life with their own value^^ and that what i study for.
